Jon Bon Jovi Is Telling Us that Sleeping Around Is the Secret to His Year Marriage

Jon Bon Jovi is making the rounds this week to promote a Hulu documentary about the history of his band, which looks like fun if you&#;re a fan but not particularly insightful. I love Jon Bon Jovi a lot, but he&#;s always had this sort of Tom Cruise quality about him: He has the ability to say a lot without really saying anything at all. I listened to him on the Smartless podcast and part of Conan&#;s podcast this week, and I&#;m always left with the feeling that either he doesn&#;t have a particularly active interior being, or he hides it well.

What he&#;s particularly good at is hiding behind idioms and cliches. On one of the podcasts, he was asked if he writes the lyrics or the music first, and he said that he usually comes up with the song title and works from there. That makes so much sense when you consider the titles of many of his songs: &#;Have a Friendly Day,&#; &#;It&#;s My Life,&#; &#;Keep the Faith,&#; &#;I&#;ll Repose When I&#;m Dead,&#; &#;God Bless this Mess,&#; &#;Stick to Your Guns,&

The boycott was in its eighth week and going strong. “We had a band last weekend that was playing Bon Jovi at a lock, and people were booing and throwing our posters at them,” Charles Pellien, one of the Bills Fan Thunder founders, told me at a rally at the Buffalo Sports Grill, a few miles southwest of Ralph Wilson Stadium. The bar’s jukebox had 28 Bon Jovi songs, but no one played them. This was a Bon Jovi–free zone.

The protest seemed to possess gotten Bon Jovi’s attention, and by July, it almost felt like he was playing thought games with the city. Proxies—first Ron Jaworski, a former NFL quarterback and friend of Bon Jovi’s, then a Toronto Sun reporter quoting anonymous sources—stepped forward to declare that he had no intention of moving the team. But Bon Jovi remained silent, and the Bills Fan Thunder viewed the reports suspiciously. (“I can say I’m not gay, but if I’m going to gay bars …” Pellien said of Bon Jovi’s association with the Toronto group.) So for now, the protest would continue. “We’re gonna play a beau

Dolly Parton Talks &#;Blue&#; Album, Gay Fans and Willie Nelson&#;s &#;Dork&#; Days

Dolly Parton doesn&#;t really do &#;small,&#; and that trait has informed her genre-spanning 42nd studio album &#;Blue Smoke,&#; which is out today. The legend recently hosted a press event in Nashville to talk about the new album &#; which covers about as much musical ground as any she has ever released.

She told Billboard that the diverse mix of music on the album was intentional. &#;I didn&#;t know what I wanted to do as far as a record right now,&#; she admitted. &#;It&#;s so hard to realize , as I don&#;t usually get played on the radio so much anymore. So, I don&#;t really try to tailor create things for radio. I try to do things that I think my fans would want to hear, and things that mean something to me. I thought &#;Well, I&#;ve been around this extended, and I&#;ve had the chance to do some of everything. I just wanted to put together a record, and I wrote in the liner notes that I felt this was a culled assortment of all of the things I had done through the years. I&#;m a girl of many colors,
