Gay Beaches: The Foremost Spots in Hawaii to Feel the Pride

Do you love visiting homosexual beaches? Or are you looking for a place where you can touch comfortable while soaking up the sun? Hawaii welcomes LBGTQ visitors, and we have lots of gay-friendly beaches.

Gay Beaches in Hawaii

Gay… Straight… Black… White… Local… Visitor… It’s all excellent in Hawaii!

Hawaii is a place for everyone, and that’s one of the many reasons I adore living here. That goes for the gay collective, too. Hawaii has a pretty active LGBTQ society and has a extended history of being a place where all are welcome.

So, we thought this is a good moment to let our readers “in” on our foremost 12 Hawaii gay beaches:

Oahu

  • Diamond Head Lighthouse Beach: This stretch of beach is located past the Zoo area of Waikiki and just below the Diamond Head lighthouse. It’s a small strip of beach that’s littered with boulders between which sunbathers can camp out. This area is known to be a bit “cruzie,” and the unofficial nude beach begins at the finish of Beach Road (just off Diamond Head Road) and goes for about six hundre

We often get requests to recommend gay friendly hotels on Maui to wedding couples, and are glad to carry out so. All of the hotels/condos listed below are in the Southwest Maui area (Kihei, Wailea) where there are nicer beaches, it is less &#;touristy&#; and drier with less of a chance for rain on your wedding day.

For accommodations near the airport, nice beaches, close to waterfalls, activities, etc, see hundreds of vacation rentals at

VRBO and Airbnb have hundreds of condos in Kihei, Wailea, Ma&#;alaea. Scroll down for hotel recommendations.

Located in this area are 5 championship golf courses, fantastic restaurants, activities, and great shopping! Southwest Maui beaches are the nicest, wider and way less crowded.

Southwest Maui is closer to:  our must-see 10, dormant foot volcano, quaint mountain villages, our spectacular waterfalls, and closer to the airport. You can have your ceremony on the beach in front of any of these hotels and condos, or see our location page for our favorite Maui wedding locations. Please note South Maui receives 9&#; of rain p

    Gay Maui

Maui, the second largest of the Hawaiian Islands with a land area of square miles, is thought to be the  most scenic. From the top of 10,foot Mt. Haleakala the views, especially at sunrise and sunset, are stunning. There are waterfalls, lush tropical foliage, rough surf below step rocky cliffs, sandy beaches, and quaint old towns to be found in this in this year-round warm and sunny climate. Lahaina was a residence for Maui's high chiefs and first capital of the Kingdom, before becoming a rowdy whaling port, and then a plantation settlement.

The gay population, second only to that on Oahu, is mainly concentrated around the Kihei area in South Maui, but male lover people live all over the island. Gay vacationers, singles or couples, often return to the island every year. They arrive to enjoy the unbelievable beauty of the place, rather than for the high energy parties or heavy cruising to be found in big cities and major resorts. Observe our Honolulu pages for the nearest gay bar/bathhouse scene.

Local gay families socialize mostly at place or in small groups, or
